Alex Gallacher

Canada

As an adviser to boards and management, Alex has demonstrated differentiated expertise in improving the functioning of organizations, and their people, across numerous sectors and geographies. Hailing from Toronto, Canada, the most multi-cultural city in the world, Alex dives deep into organizational culture and intercultural management for any organization that wishes to achieve continuous improvement in organizational effectiveness.

His work ranges from tech start-ups to long established financial services organizations in need of transformation. It is in this vein that he upgraded his skill set and joined The Culture Factor Group as an Associated Practitioner in 2018, based on increasingly international client needs, and his ongoing commitment to ‘walking the talk’ on the journey of lifelong learning. Alex has taught master’s level human resources and leadership courses at varying times for McGill University, in both Tokyo and Montréal, and continues this work through the Centre for Industrial Relations and Human Resources at the University of Toronto.

As a former officer and director of human resources, and a current independent board member, Alex is also keenly aware of the delicate balance between effectively managing change and the legal perils of litigious environments. Alex also coaches a young men’s hockey team, moving them toward Collectivism, while reducing the Indulgent tendencies that tend to lead to time in the penalty box, on and off the ice.
